The museum’s weavers’ cottages provide an ideal setting for these popular
events that always provide lots of family fun. There will be games, stalls
and Father Christmas. To give your tastebuds a workout, try the homemade
cakes, Mrs Sykes’s Christmas pudding, and hot mince pies straight from the
Victorian kitchen.

The evening event on Wednesday 28 October marks the end of our 6-month Creative Business Support pilot and the start of a longer-term programme for the coming year.

At this Colne Valley Connections we’ll therefore be celebrating both endings and beginnings. As you may know the original “taster” programme is coming to a close. Nields School PSFA are hosting a Halloween Fancy Dress Disco Party at Slaithwaite Conservative Club on Friday 30th October. With prizes for the best fancy dress costumes (adults and children), Wrap the Mummy, an art competition, raffle and spot prizes from the DJ there’s fun for all the family. There will also be sandwiches and sweets and treats along with a licensed bar.

Through a fascinating display of old maps and photographs, the exhibition traces how Marsden has grown from a handful of houses in 1720 to its current size.

Presented by the Marsden History Group, the exhibition also shows how the development of the upper Colne Valley has been influenced by the area’s geology.

Milnsbridge Village hall

This community building is avaialble to hire at very reasonable rates, many people come back year after year, there is a large main hall, very clean and spacious kitchen.and a lovley outdoor area. The toilets are new and there is a disabled toliet.

Classes running at present are; Yoga (wed eve and thur pm), Drama classes for children form aged 7, dance class and our brand new and very popular baby and toddler group, which runs every monday and friday 9.30-11.30.
